Green Springs

Green Springs, at a location formerly known as Iron Bed Springs, was a short-lived camp that emerged in 1907, due in part to a renewed interest in nearby Ellsworth and a gold discovery at the site. A townsite was laid out, and reportedly had up to fifty residents, saloons and restaurants, but a failure to produce led to the camp's abandonment in 1908. Clinton Beard remained in 1914, and was evidently offered $50,000 for his promising claims; he rejected the offer and later died penniless in Tonopah.
