Gerlach

Gerlach was founded in 1905 when the Western Pacific Railroad built its route across Nevada. It was named for Louis Gerlach, who owned a number of ranches in the area. The Gerlach post office opened October 27, 1909. Today it is best known for being the nearest town to the annual Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert.
