Willow Point

Willow Point was a stage station serving travelers between Winnemucca and Paradise Valley beginning in the 1860s. In August 1865, Camp Willow Point was established on the Little Humboldt River by Major Michael O'Brien, who took over troops on the Quinn River after Lt. Colonel Charles McDermit was killed by Indians on August 7th. They remained there until October, when they withdrew to Camp Dun Glen. By 1910, Willow Point had a hotel, saloon, and livery stable, but that year the post office closed and nothing discernable remains today.
