Silver Creek

Silver Creek was a forty-car siding and stop along the Nevada Central Railroad established in 1880. A small settlement developed, and in 1881 a school was built at a nearby spring. Some silver was located, and claims were worked in the 1890s, but nothing substantial came from them. The school closed in 1914, and in 1938 Silver Creek was abandoned following the closure of the railroad. Little more than railroad ties remain to mark the site.
