Ravenelle Ranch

Although the exact date is unclear, Eusebe "Zeb" Ravenelle and his wife Felina (Nancy) started their ranch along the East Walker River sometime in the early-to-mid-1880s. There they remained until the early 1900s, when they removed to Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Ravenelle died in 1924 and 1928, respectively.

By 1910, the Ravenelle Ranch was owned by Lee J. Wheeler. Ten years later, the Yparraguirre Brothers of Sweetwater held the property. For several decades, it passed through other hands until it finally became part of Barron Hilton's Flying M Ranch in 1969. In 2018, the Ravenelle Ranch land made up part of Nevada's new Walker River State Recreation Area.
