Gerlach

Gerlach was founded in 1905 when the Western Pacific Railroad built its route across Nevada. It was named for the Gerlach Land and Cattle Company, in turn named for its founder Louis Gerlach. A post office opened in 1909, and today it is best known for being the nearest town to the annual Burning Man festival in the Black Rock Desert.
