Hercules

[Not to be confused with Hercules in Nye County]

Hercules sprang up during the boom at Wonder in 1906. In March 1907, the Vulture mine at Hercules made the first shipment of ore from the district, and soon Hercules had its own weekly newspaper, the Hercules Miner, and a handsome wooden hotel-the St. Francis (though it burned that Spring). The townsite didn't last past 1908.

Jack Pot Mine - Located by Thomas L. Stroud in 1906, is was the first mine in the Wonder district.
