Clark's Sawmill
(Yount's Sawmill)
While the exact date of the sawmill's installation is unknown, it was brought in by Joseph Yount sometime after his family settled at the Manse Ranch in Pahrump Valley in 1875. Lumber from this mill was used throughout Southern Nevada and California, most notably as railroad ties for the line between Bullfrog and Rhyolite. In 1905, Harsha White, Yount's son-in-law, overtook the ranch and worked the sawmill with Nehemiah 'Red' Clark. White bought out Clark in 1907, and the sawmill ceased operation about 1915.
