Pilot Basin

Pilot Basin, also known as Pilot City or just Pilot, was a small camp that popped up in the Jackson Mining District in 1906. Just over the divide from Gold Park, the Pilot Basin Townsite Company laid out the townsite in April. That month, Peter Peterson's Pilot group was noted as the largest producer, and he sold to a group from Salt Lake in May. Little else has been written about Pilot Basin since, although Peterson's former holdings were worked by Albin Nelson from 1939 until 1942.
