St. Augustine

St. Augustine (spelled also as San Augustine or St. Augustin) was an early camp near Washington, emerging around 1863 or early 1864. Through that decade and into the next, St. Augustine was serviced by several stage lines between Austin and Ione. Little mention of the camp is found in newspapers of the day, and it disappeared from maps after 1876.
