Pogonip
The west slope of Treasure Hill immediately adjacent to Treasure City is fringed with several named "flats" including Alta, Bromide (Noon Day), and Chloride Flat. Pogonip Flat, the southernmost, was named for a dense fog with ice crystals and home to a small camp established in the late 1860s during the initial rush to White Pine. Soon forgotten, the Pogonip camp was likely absorbed by the larger Treasure City early on.
